Finally finished “How ya like me meow?” for the Sketchbook Project 2012!
Christine refreshed me on old nicknames Mom gave us when we were kids: Christinekitang and Carowawo. A flood of memories come back including Care Bears outfits and playing Mail Man.
Feel free to follow me at my other Tumblr site as well: http://dollsandmonsters.tumblr.com/
Thanks!
These are the cat drawings I’ve done for my “How Ya Like Me Meow?” micro zine premiering at the East Bay Alternative Press Book Fair this Saturday. I’m still not done with the last one. I wish I wasn’t allergic to cats. How I love them!
This is the 3rd year I volunteered to teach a holiday card making class for Shanti, a wonderful organization that focuses on enhancing the life of persons living with life-threatening or chronic illnesses by providing volunteer-based emotional and practical support. The focus on this class was love and gratitude. It was a lot of fun and the women are as always an inspiration to me. The flower card is an example I made for the class.
Had the most awesome chill art day with Loni, one of my best gal friends. Here’s a skull I worked on.
Details of a pop up card I made recently. I’ve been feeling crafty lately.
Beware the Great Kitty Cat Pumpkin!
Here are some pics from the recent John Muir themed Ozone at the Oakland Museum of California. I joined the best natural beard contest. I made my mustache out of leaves and tied my hair to my chin with a hairband to make a beard. Jan has an awesome fluffy mustache and twigs, dried leaves and dirt for a beard. I made Anne’s beard out of twine. She made a great emcee that evening.
Unpacking a box I found an old Peanuts inspired doodle I made years ago of me and an ex. Notice how sad I depicted myself. I’m so happy to leave my twenties!
